Adele Cliff: Edinburgh Fringe 2018 interview

Hello. How are you today?

I’ve just done my laundry and watched a great murder documentary, so I’m having a pretty good day!

At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?

I’d say it’s actually fairly close and I’m not planning to change the main themes or my own name before August.

Who are you sharing a flat with and how will you help each other survive the month?

I actually live with comics in London, so I’m used to sharing with other funny folk. My flatmates in Edinburgh are Aaron Simmonds, Philip Simon and Rachel Creeger and they are all top people so I’m excited about it. It’ll be a nice upgrade from the times I’ve ended up sharing 1 bathroom with 12 other comics, at least I hope this time it’ll be easier to tell who’s been stealing my shampoo.

Any shows you’re excited about seeing?

So many, especially Laura Lexx, Sarah Keyworth, Catherine Bohart and Jason Byrne.

Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?

I can’t wait to be surrounded by so many other performers and to get to share horror stories. I’m also excited about going to Mosque Kitchen again.

The Fringe’s tagline this year is ‘Into The Unknown’. What do people not know about you?

Some people know that my elbows bend backwards, but what most people don’t know is that showing people my funny elbows at parties has been my number one flirting technique for the last 3 years.

Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.

I’m looking for friends to go to the trampoline park with, if anyone fancies it tweet me, I’d jump at the opportunity.
