At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
It’s my fourth show so I know to be vague! The show nearly got called “Bethany Black talks for at least 50 minutes” but my show is about discovering I’ve got agoraphobia so fortunately I didn’t have to leave the house to do any research.
Who are you sharing a flat with and how will you help each other survive the month?
I am not sharing a flat with anyone. I’m an absolute nightmare to live with and I don’t drink so I’m usually in bed by midnight. My original flat fell through and fortunately being a former Doctor Who actor totally counteracts my terrible personality, so I got an offer from a Doctor Who fan within hours of losing the original flat. I’m just hoping I don’t get there and find pictures of me all over the walls. Also I read Misery again recently so that’s got me panicked.
Any shows you’re excited about seeing?
Laura Lexx. As women are still rare on comedy bills we don’t gig together that often and as we’ve had similar hair recently that’s apparently too much for audiences to cope with, might melt their tiny minds so I can’t wait to see her show.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Due to my agoraphobia I’ll be staying indoors playing Skyrim on my Nintendo Switch when I’m not performing. Outside is for mugs.
The Fringe’s tagline this year is ‘Into The Unknown’. What do people not know about you?
I’ve read over 10 books.
I’m bored of all the podcasts I currently subscribe to. Can you recommend me a good one please?
They’ve finished now, but the three series of The Parapod are just phenomenal. Barry Dodds is a national Treasure
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
Sister Act and The Mighty Ducks are two of the greatest movies of my generation
