Hello. How are you today?
I’m OK, its cloudy after a solid ten days of sun and I’m glad of the respite. I’m meeting Obie Trice tomorrow. So I’m listening to his music. I don’t know why, it’s not like he’ll test me on my knowledge of his raps. It’s nice to revisit his stuff. I went to a concert he performed at when i was 13. I drank two bacardi breezers and my mum had to pick me up from a police station.
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
Eurgh, it’s similar but not similar, I never not regret my blurb. This answer makes as much sense as my blurb. The blurb writing is the worst part of being a comedian. I’m bad at typing anything sincere.
Who are you sharing a flat with and how will you help each other survive the month?
I’m sharing a flat with three other Irish comedians, Hannah Mamalis, Ruth Hunter and Colin Chadwick. They are fantastic comedians and considerate flatmates. I have dreams of making a large pot of bean stew and putting a post it note on it saying “please take some 😊”.
Just found out my friend Shane Clifford is in the final of so you think you’re funny, he can have the couch for that night. I’ll make him some stew as well.
Any shows you’re excited about seeing?
Mat Ewins! Adventure man seven was the best live experience I’ve ever had. I hurt myself laughing, it was uncomfortable I laughed that much. I hope to laugh one tenth as much as I did with last year’s show and I’d be happy.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Catching up with my UK friends, Sofie Hagen is doing new stuff at this year’s festival. I’m working with her on thing and we might test it out in Edinburgh. Also Paradise Palms, the best food, grumpy waiters with the loudest shirts. An amazing establishment, I hope it never changes.
The Fringe’s tagline this year is ‘Into The Unknown’. What do people not know about you?
I once searched through the skip of a convent and found a glow in the dark action figure of Saint Clare.
I’m bored of all the podcasts I currently subscribe to. Can you recommend me a good one please?
My one, the Alison Spittle show. Me (a comedian) interviews people (mostly comedians) so original! I like Nancy from WNYC a queer magazine show and Dreamgun Film reads, they rewrite well loved films and make it ten times funnier and read it put live infront of an audience. 👌
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
