Voldemort and the Teenage Hogwarts Musical Parody: Edinburgh Fringe 2018 interview

Chris Grace from the Teenage Hogwarts Musical Parody on meat pies and magic mirrors.

Hello. How are you today?

We’re great and only slightly panicking!

At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?

Remarkably well. Our prognostications proved true. Luckily we looked into the correct magic mirror!

Who are you sharing a flat with and how will you help each other survive the month?

We’ve got a big enough cast that we are sharing it with ourselves! We’ll survive by bonding, sharing chores, and pretending for a month that the American political system doesn’t affect us.

Any shows you’re excited about seeing?

As many circus, clown, and magic shows as possible. And David O’Doherty.

Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?

Most of our cast is new to the Fringe, so we’re excited to see how many meat pies they can eat in one evening.

The Fringe’s tagline this year is ‘Into The Unknown’. What do people not know about you?

That we are not Americans that dream we are at Fringe for a month. That we are at Fringe, and for eleven months we dream that we are American.

Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.

Anything?! Well, Eudora Welty was an American short story writer who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1973. She was most famous to US students for the story “Why I Live at the PO”. She died in 2001, but if she were alive today we’re confident she would come see “Voldemort and the Teenage Hogwarts Musical Parody”!
