A debut hour from this sketch duo.
Hello. How are you today?
Yeah no definitely.
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
The blurb doesn’t actually have a joke in it, so I guess they’re pretty similar.
Have the momentous events of 2016 affected your act in any way?
After Leicester won the Premiership we ended up writing what became this twenty minute long saga where Jamie Vardy meets this wizard in the woods who sells him magic boots in exchange for his soul. It had everyone in it: Ranieri, Roy Hodgson, Danny Drinkwater’s wife who was an orange. It took about two weeks to write and one second to cut.
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
We still don’t have a flat, so if there are any going please let us know. Survival is going to be quite hard without one.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
A lot of our favourites are on at the same time as us (19:15 Pleasance Courtyard. Winky face), but we can’t wait for Joseph Morpurgo & Tim Key. We’ve done some gigs with Phoebe Walsh recently and can’t wait to see her full hour.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Probably Dave’s best joke list. They’re always so many jokes on that! And that’s why we’re here (for the laughs).
What celebrity death hit you the hardest in 2016 (mine was Wogan)?
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
Ian, if you’re reading this, we’re (still) really, really sorry about what happened.
