A debut hour from this Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year nominee 2017.
Hello. How are you today?
Not bad. Bit cold
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
I learnt from last year and very cleverly avoided nailing down a specific thing in the blurb. At the moment the only concrete information it has about my show is that it’s my debut hour, so in that respect the blurb is still 100% correct
Have the momentous events of 2016 affected your comedy in any way?
It’s been a dreadful year. I’ve had to chuck out all my “Alan Rickman and Prince walk into a bar” jokes
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
I’m living with Sid Singh and Christopher Macarthur Boyd. I dunno how we’ll help each other survive. Maybe by getting as many sets of keys as people (something I again forgot to do last year)
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
Pierre Novellie and Eshaan Akbar
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
I’m bringing my PS4 with me this year so probably that. And Palmyra.
What celebrity death hit you the hardest in 2016 (mine was Wogan)?
Leonard Cohen, without a doubt.
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
I managed to buy a new backpack, but it’s still in that crusty new backpack phase where it’s not comfy or slack yet. Like it’s constantly alert, afraid of being a backpack. Do any of your readers have any tips of how to relax a backpack?
