Edinburgh Comedy Award winner teams up with Craig Quartermaine for a show that provides a thoughtful and funny look at race relations.
Hello. How are you today?
Topless with a freshly shaved head
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
Bang on. Craig and I have been working on Race Off since January. And when it comes to Brendon Burns and Colt Cabana do Comedy and Commentary to Bad Wrestling Matches – well, that show fits the title more than it could any blurb we came up with
Have the momentous events of 2016 affected your act in any way?
Good point, last year’s Wrestlemania changed the landscape of… Oh, you mean Brexit and the Trump thing? Well given that Race Off is about race relations it certainly seems like a timely show.
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
Colt, Craig Quartemaine and I are also splitting with Evan Desmarais. We will try and talk him out of being French Canadian.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
This is where I normally lie. I have no idea what anyone else is doing. Haven’t even seen the Fringe guide yet.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Four days of sun.
What celebrity death hit you the hardest in 2016 (mine was Wogan)?
None of them are actually dead. They foresaw Trump as some sort of extinction event and are currently on a spaceship.
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
I’ve been having nothing but vegetable shakes for breakfast. I am nicer to look at but infinitely less pleasant to sleep next to.
