Erich is an American political comic who’s taking on Trump.
Hello. How are you today?
Trucking along!
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
So far pretty close. But with a show about Donald Trump there is a risk it could change by the end of an hour.
Have the momentous events of 2016 affected your act in any way?
Yes, I thought Hillary would win and I’d be doing a show about apple baking. After Trump won I knew I was done.
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
My wife and two young children. I’m hoping they can survive me.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
Matt Forde is always great. Grainne Maguire and Jess Fostekew are favourites.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Walking up Arthur’s Seat for the first time. I’m doing a trek to Machu Picchu for Velindre Cancer Centre and it’s my workout.
What celebrity death hit you the hardest in 2016 (mine was Wogan)?
I tend to not be surprised by celebrity deaths. As I believe they are mortal as well.
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
Come see my show. I’ve promised my wife it would make me famous and I think she’s going to find out I lied to her. Again.
