London Podcast Festival preview

There are few greater joys than sitting down on a train or bus or going for a pleasant walk with a great, funny podcast to block out all of the horrible sounds of city life or make that commute bearable. But what if you could go see all these people saying funny things down your ears through electricity on stage in some live environment at a lovely venue in London?

They are bringing together some of the best talking talent in the world to put on live versions of shows that are beloved by millions across the world. The bill is jam-packed, and some dates are sold out already, but here are our picks of five shows you can still get tickets to see.

Bullseye is not a audio remake of the darts themed games how but a interview show with entertainment great and good. Joining him live are Armando Iannucci – possibly the greatest comedy producer ever – and Josie Long.

Wooden Overcoats

Rudyard Funn ran the only undertakers on the remote channel island of Piffling, until the charming and sexy Eric Chapman arrives to give him a run for his money. An award winning sitcom (Itunes Best of 2015) Wooden Overcoats is crafted with as much love and care as a premium coffin. It’s an audio sitcom which raises the bar for podcasting a whole, excellent production values, a lean honed script and a superb cast bring the island to life.
