Katia Kvinge: Edinburgh Fringe 2016 interview

Katia Kvinge risked death at last year’s Edinburgh Festival performing in the sickness trap that is The Caves.

She recovered though, and has spent the past wee while in the U.S. honing her character/improv skills and making videos about mountains. Lovely stuff.

How are you today?

Good great cheers thanks!

Are you ready for another month of Edinburgh Fringe action?

Yeah I’m excited about my show this year mainly because I’ve completely changed the whole structure of the show a week before the Fringe which could be a big mistake but it’s keep things fresh.

At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?

My blurb says I’m a character comedian but I’m actually a Squirrel!

What are your tips for getting people to see your show?

Call your show something vague like a thing or animal people generally like and then get a artsy poster that doesn’t relate to anything in the show – keeps people curious!

Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?

I’m staying at my mums place right by the sea – it’s about an hour from the centre of Edinburgh but a nice escape from the festival chaos!

Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?

1pm The guy busking singing through a traffic cone – Royal Mile
4pm The bagpiper deafening people – Princess Street
9pm The drunk girls in oggie oggie oggie oi oi oi- George Street

Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?

Forming a cocaine habit. Kidding! Seriously though I can’t wait to cry myself to sleep. Kidding! But genuinely though I anticipate this festival could bring about World Peace!

Salt and sauce on your chips?

And heart attack too

Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
