Whether it’s as a member of the Weirdos, fronting her own online news show or her own amazing stand-up, Harriet is a joyful and wonderful comedian who has a knack for enticing you into her idiosyncratic world of odd ideas and thoughtful curiosity. She keeps getting better and better.
Hello. How are you today?
I’m alright. I had a root canal yesterday though and I was so brave, everyone said! But then I bit my lip as I was so numb from the injection and nearly bit right through. It turns out the only thing stopping me from biting through my own flesh is pain.
Are you ready for another month of Edinburgh Fringe action?
WHAT!?! IT’S JULY!?! Yup, couldn’t be more prepared.
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
Err I don’t know what the programme says, but my name is definitely the same.
What are your tips for getting people to see your show?
Probably just acting real cool.
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
Kate Lucas. Evelyn Mok. Katherine Ferns. Dylan Gott. Dylan’s girlfriend Alexis. Aatif Nawaz and sometimes Bobby Mair. There is no way that we are going to survive the month.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
Little Katie Lucas is doing her first show so I’m very excited about that. And Sunil Patel. And Andrea Hubert. And Richard Todd. And Dylan. And stupid idiot Jonny Pelham. I also like watching The Weirdos and Stuart Laws.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Ah. Some lovely peace and quiet. In the biggest Arts Festival in the World.
What’s your topping at The Baked Potato Shop on Cockburn Street?
I’m vegan and allergic to raw fruit and vegetables so it will probably just be the potato?
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
