One of a few real breakout stars of the 2015 Fringe for his brilliant show of playful, prop-based fun, Spencer Jones is back and Edinburgh is all the better for it.
You can catch last year’s acclaimed show too at the Underbelly.
Hello. How are you today?
Alright. Had a day off. Took the kid swimming. Fell over in the car park.
Are you ready for another month of Edinburgh Fringe action?
I am, but not until January. I’ll be ready by then.
At this stage, how closely does your programme blurb match the content of your show?
I mention four things in the blurb and two of them are not in the show. And never will be. I only mentioned a wheelbarrow because i though it might be a good way to get all these bloody props over Waverley Bridge.
What are your tips for getting people to see your show?
Sneak into people’s toilets in their homes and stick a flier inside the door so they can read it while they do a poo.
Who are you sharing a flat with this festival and how will you help each other survive the month?
I am sleeping in my car. It’s the only way to make this festival economically viable. The family are all going too. We will have to put the seats down I reckon.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about seeing?
Richard Gadd and Matt Ewins. I have seen both their very early previews and I got a bit wobbly legged.
Other than the great shows, what else are you looking forward to about your trip to Edinburgh this year?
Hanging out and meeting Scottish people. And never being bored for a whole month. Quality.
Salt and sauce on your chips?
Both, but can I apply them please?
Here’s a space to write about anything you want. Go for it.
I have a really shit fridge.
