We were surprised to learn that the Laugh Out London Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Awards aren’t the only major awards at the Edinburgh Festival.
It turns out that the delicious drink Fosters has also decided to honour some comedians performing at the Fringe this year. In fact, they’ve been doing it for several years. Who would have thought it?
Anyway, we’re pleased to say they have similar tastes to us and picked some great comedy people for both the Best Show award and the Best Newcomer award. And here they are:
Best Comedy Show:
Alex Horne: Monsieur Butterfly
James Acaster: Recognise
John Kearns: Shtick
Liam Williams: Capitalism
Romesh Ranganathan: Rom Wasn’t Built in a Day
Sam Simmons: Death of a Sails – Man
Sara Pascoe: Sara Pascoe vs History
Alex Edelman: Millenial
Dane Baptiste: Citizen Dane
Geins Family Giftshop: Geins Family Giftshop: Volume 1
Lazy Susan: Extreme Humans
Lucy Beaumont: We Can Twerk it Out
Steen Raskopoulos: I’m Wearing Two Suits Because I Mean Business
Congratulations to all the nominees.
The results will be announced at a lunchtime ceremony on Saturday August 23rd. Bruce Dessau will announced his predictions as news about an hour before.
You can see Sara Pascoe and Liam Williams as part of Laugh Out London’s Pick of the Fringe in Angel, London, on September 9.
